Adventures with Adèle Blanc-Sec

In French 2, as we move toward the exploring cities and Paris unit at the end of semester 1, I like to show Les aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec. It's similar to Indiana Jones and has elements that remind me of other fantasy and science fiction films. It's not the best film ever, but I find it lends itself quite nicely to the theme of my unit. There are many landmarks in Paris that are in the film and there are cultural elements that can be explored more in-depth as well. Plus, you can't beat the ending. My students are always talking about how French films end and this one really makes them groan. :)

I haven't had the opportunity to have any colleagues check for errors. Please let me know if you notice any!

I am impressed with the detail and breadth of ideas in this packet which I aim to use with my French 2 students soon.( I went to college in your area, at Whitewater.)

Thanks so much! I've been working on these for a couple of years now. They are by no means perfect, but I wanted more than the typical lesson. Films are so important to French class!

I updated all of the films with a button to access the Google Doc. Let me know if it works! Sorry about that. I think the weebly parameters for downloads may have changed. Thanks for letting me know!
